The common behaviors of autism is lack of communication, lack of eye contact, and social awkwardness. All these behaviors can be confused as being disrespectful to an officer. If emergency response teams are trained on autism awareness, they can better respond to a situation safely and prevent an incorrect action against an autistic person.
